Super Series is a new European Bowling tour that started 2003, with it´s first competition in Aalborg, Denmark. The new tournament has 6 tour stops and a grande finale in Jönköping, Sweden, during easter 2004. The prize money will be the highest ever in Sweden. Swedish Television, SVT, NRK, Norwegian Television and Viasat Denmark is broadcasting the finals from each tour stops live. The Grande Finale in Jönköping will be broadcasted live on Swedish National channel and can be wied all over the country. Today the tour stops are in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, but in a very short time, probably the season 2004/2005, the tour will expand to the rest of the European bowling countries. Those countries will probably be Germany, England, Spain, France and Italy.

Strike out
2006-08-20

When Patrick Backe was a member in Team Sweden everyone knows that whenever he really needed a strike he gets the strike. If he needed a triple in the last frame he gets the triple in the last frame. But no one really thought that when Patrick needed 18 strike to make the final in Olympia Tournament that he would be able to manage it. But he did.

- I had a lousy start in the last squad, only 329 after the first two games. But then I found the line and manage to stay in the pocket in the last 4 games, says Patrick after the hilarious ending. I don’t think I have had a more important game of 300 than this one.

The top results in Olympia have been beyond every earlier tournament in the SuperSeries. But the cut still was a “normal” one, 1351. Many players said that if you find the right way to play with the right choice of ball only the sky was the limit for the scores. If you didn’t find it two games on a pair of lanes could spoil everything.

In the last two squads there were three players in the 1400 family. Thomas Gross of Austria, Or Aviram of Israel and the Norwegian top player Svein Roger Olsen completed the group of 1400’s to the size of 22.

Last player to get a ticket to the final was the left Magnus Andersson (pictured below) with a score of 1351. Outside the field with the same score landed Nina Flack. Magnus made it by a last game of 205, Ninas last one was 195.
