Super Series is a new European Bowling tour that started 2003, with it´s first competition in Aalborg, Denmark. The new tournament has 6 tour stops and a grande finale in Jönköping, Sweden, during easter 2004. The prize money will be the highest ever in Sweden. Swedish Television, SVT, NRK, Norwegian Television and Viasat Denmark is broadcasting the finals from each tour stops live. The Grande Finale in Jönköping will be broadcasted live on Swedish National channel and can be wied all over the country. Today the tour stops are in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, but in a very short time, probably the season 2004/2005, the tour will expand to the rest of the European bowling countries. Those countries will probably be Germany, England, Spain, France and Italy.

New leader in Helsingborg
2006-08-19

Within some hours we will edit the names of the 48 bowlers in the final in Olympia Tournament. Some of the names are for sure in the final. Today we saw a new leader of the gang. Kamilla Kjeldsen was the third player to crack the 1500 wall. An excellent result from an excellent bowler but it wasn’t a personal record (she needed 17 pins more to break that one).

The third perfect game was scored by the 18-year old James Gruffman. He was a Gold medallist in Trios and Team in European Youth Championship in Copenhagen this spring. In the Masters he lost the final agains Sascha Oobst of Germany.

James landed on 1414 and will now appear in his second final in SuperSeries. In the first one in Husqvarna 2005 he had a big fight against Peter Ljung. He lost the fifth game 258 to 278 and ended up in position 56. Now he had already improved that result. At least he gets a position 48.

- My summer has been OK, a lot of work and some bowling, just to keep the feeling of playing well. This is my first 300 game and couldn’t had come in a better occasion. My goal is to play a good final tomorrow. Next goal is to play well in SuperSix in Jönköping and in Norwegian Open next month.

Petri Manonen proved that despite the high scores in Helsingborg it is possible to find big problems out there. After four games his score was 1052 but he passed 1400 with only 12 pins. A lot of strange pin settings destroyed his chances to reach the Top 8.

Maybe another Finnish player gets there, Osku Palermaas 1433 is right now the eighth result. But there are two squads left. Players like Paul Moor, Thomas Gross, Pasi Uotila and Or Aviram are all short of high scores and they are all able to do better than they already done.
