SuperSeries

Super Series is a new European Bowling tour that started 2003, with it´s first competition in Aalborg, Denmark. The new tournament has 6 tour stops and a grande finale in Jönköping, Sweden, during easter 2004. The prize money will be the highest ever in Sweden. Swedish Television, SVT, NRK, Norwegian Television and Viasat Denmark is broadcasting the finals from each tour stops live. The Grande Finale in Jönköping will be broadcasted live on Swedish National channel and can be wied all over the country. Today the tour stops are in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, but in a very short time, probably the season 2004/2005, the tour will expand to the rest of the European bowling countries. Those countries will probably be Germany, England, Spain, France and Italy.

Virta, a strong fin(n)ish.

The young Matti Virta from Finland was the first one to deliver a perfect game in Helsingborg. In the last game in the third squad he lined up 12 strikes and a total of 1340. Maybe the strikes appeared a little bit to late for him. Maybe the strikes appeared a little bit to late for him. Many of the experts on the spectators hill think that the cut will be at the level of 1365 or higher.

Matti played for the national U-23 team in the Nordic Championship in 2003 and received a Gold medal in Mixed and a Silver medal in Team. He have been in a SuperSeries final field once before. In Kungsbacka he qualified for the final by a 1376-round but failed in the first match against Robby Spigner, USA.

Christer Danielsson (pictured below) of Sweden is in the top of the European Senior Tour. He also compete in the EBT-Tour with a great success. He ended up as # 9 in Barcelona and in # 18 in Copehagen recently. On Wednesday he won the squad by 1350.

The local player Mattias Möller should have been in top of the squad but an unwanted game of 187 spoiled his chances to secure a place in the final.
