SuperSeries

Super Series is a new European Bowling tour that started 2003, with it´s first competition in Aalborg, Denmark. The new tournament has 6 tour stops and a grande finale in Jönköping, Sweden, during easter 2004. The prize money will be the highest ever in Sweden. Swedish Television, SVT, NRK, Norwegian Television and Viasat Denmark is broadcasting the finals from each tour stops live. The Grande Finale in Jönköping will be broadcasted live on Swedish National channel and can be wied all over the country. Today the tour stops are in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, but in a very short time, probably the season 2004/2005, the tour will expand to the rest of the European bowling countries. Those countries will probably be Germany, England, Spain, France and Italy.

Desperado for the first time

Late on Saturday evening Kimmo Lehtonen announced with a big smile on his face.
- For the first time in my life I am going to play a desperado.
The two-time winner of the SuperSeries tournament Norwegian Open and the winner of World Ranking Masters 2005, is not use to the situation to struggle for a place in a final field in that late hour of the day.

When the desperado squad was played Kimmo was to be find on the very last qualifying position by a 229 game. And in the final he shows everybody that he is one best lefties in the world.

934 and pos. 1 in final Step 1, 862 / pos 5, in Step 2 and 889 / pos 3 in Step 3. From out of the fields on Saturday he now have claimed to the be one of the favorite to the title in Brunswick Aalborg Int. 2006.

But a young Latvian guy could stop him. Nikolay Ovchinnikovs pictured below have proved to all the bowling experts that his pos 7 in the European Ranking is unfair at all. In final step 3 he was on the edge before the last game but put in 243 to raise to a place in finale Step 4.

The gold medalist from world Championship in Malaysia 2003, Anders Öhman is on the hunt for a place in Top-16. He needs 40 points from BAI to reach the 25.000 €-final.
