Super Series is a new European Bowling tour that started 2003, with it´s first competition in Aalborg, Denmark. The new tournament has 6 tour stops and a grande finale in Jönköping, Sweden, during easter 2004. The prize money will be the highest ever in Sweden. Swedish Television, SVT, NRK, Norwegian Television and Viasat Denmark is broadcasting the finals from each tour stops live. The Grande Finale in Jönköping will be broadcasted live on Swedish National channel and can be wied all over the country. Today the tour stops are in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, but in a very short time, probably the season 2004/2005, the tour will expand to the rest of the European bowling countries. Those countries will probably be Germany, England, Spain, France and Italy.

Ron, among the pins!
2005-09-26

Super Series #2 in Moss is on it’s way. The Norwegian Open has already seen 88 players on the lanes in Moss. Another 130 players is on the their way to Bowling 1. One of them is Ron Harding, a Scottish fellow from Copenhagen (pictured above). He’s one of the most well-known faces in the SuperSeries circus. With no titles on the tour and no attempts in any final he still made some money out of every stop.

How ?
Easy ! He is the man behind most of the embroidered shirt for the players. He moved to Copenhagen earlier this year and established the company Pins & Needles in Worldcuphallen in Rødovre. But when there is as big tournament as SuperSeries he open up branch anywhere.

On the arena, some of the Norwegians have challenged the lanes. Glenn Morten Pedersen was on the highway to the Top-8, but…
After 5 games and a double in the start of game 6 he headed for 1440 when the open frames appeared. Not once or twice. The last game ended in a level of 135 and a total of 1357, probably enough for a place in the final but far from the Top-8.
- In all of a sudden everything went away for him. He didn’t know anything about bowling and didn’t know where he where, so I told him “Moss”, said Erik Garder after the devastated finish for Glenn Morten (pictured below).

Glenn Mortens next attempt is on Tuesday. The results from Norwegian Open is to be found here
